This software is the Windows printer driver for SM-L300.
Installing this printer driver allows you to use the standard print functionality found in most Windows applications.
You must create a printer queue in order to use the printer driver's functions. You can create a printer queue with the following procedure.
As soon as the printer queue is created, you are able to change the printer settings. Change the printer settings with the following procedure.
You can configure different printer functions according to each printer queue.
Your printer driver supports 'Line' and 'Raster'. Using different 'Print Mode' enables different usage and features.
The available functions in each mode are as the following. Click the function names link for detailed descriptions.

The 'Device Settings' tab of your printer queue's properties window contains many different settings. Open the 'Device Settings' tab with the following procedure.
The description of the contents for each function is listed below.
You can choose either 'Line' or 'Raster' for your document.
'Raster' is selected as the default setting. The printer driver functions are different according to these print mode settings. For detailed information please refer to the information Here.
There are 6 types of paper: variable-length ‘Receipt’, fixed-length ‘Ticket’, detectable ‘Black Mark (3 inch)', ‘Black Mark (2 inch)' and ‘Black Mark (Center)’ and the ‘Label(Gap)’ fed using the transparent sensor.
Use the 'Receipt' option if you want the printer to feed paper to the tear bar position after printing.
(You may set your receipt paper size at Paper Size)
Use the 'Ticket' option if you want the printer to feed paper after printing until the page length reaches a consistent length that you set via Paper Size.
Use the 'Black Mark (3inch)', 'Black Mark (2inch)' or 'Black Mark (Center)' option if you want the printer to feed paper to the black mark position.
Use the 'Label(Gap)' option if you want the printer to feed paper until the head of the label detected by the transmission sensor.
This setting controls how dark the printer prints.
In most cases you will want to use the 'Medium' option. If you want the printing lighter, adjust to 'Low'. If you want the printing darker, adjust to 'High'.
Use the 'Special' option if you are using paper with poor color developability such as labels.
When the error occurs, you can handle the unprinted data which has already been sent to the printer as below.
If you want to cancel the unprinted data after the recovery from the error, select 'Clear Data By Document' and check 'Enable bidirectional support' box at the 'Ports' tab of 'Printer properties'.
If you want to print the unprinted data continuously after the recovery from the error, select 'Store Data' and uncheck 'Enable bidirectional support' box.
When using Black Mark paper or labels and printing for the first time after turning on the power, set the settings to 'Enable’ to detect the Black Mark position or feed the head of the label.
This setting controls the enlargement or reduction percentage.
You can set a scaling factor between 20% and 200%.
NVLogo is a function that prints on pages or documents logo data that has been registered into the printer using the logo registration function of printer utility.
Before starting this setting, you must register your logo into your printer. For details, please refer to Logo Store Help for Printer Utility.
This sets the position and data of a logo if you want to print it at the top of a document.
To print a logo left-aligned, select 'Left'. To print it centered, select 'Center'. To print it right-aligned, select 'Right'. You can also set the number of the logo data that you want to print in 'Registration Number'.
Any logo that you choose here will be printed at the top of the first page of the document.
If you select 'No Use', the logo will not be printed at the top of the document.
This sets the position and data of a logo if you want to print it at the top of a page.
To print a logo left-aligned, select 'Left'. To print it centered, select 'Center'. To print it right-aligned, select 'Right'. You can also set the number of the logo data that you want to print in 'Registration Number'.
Any logo that you choose here will be printed at the top of the page.
If you select 'No Use', the logo will not be printed at the top of the page.
This sets the position and data of a logo if you want to print it at the bottom of a page.
To print a logo left-aligned, select 'Left'. To print it centered, select 'Center'. To print it right-aligned, select 'Right'. You can also set the number of the logo data that you want to print in 'Registration Number'.
Any logo that you choose here will be printed at the bottom of the page.
By configuring it to the 'No Use' option, the logo will not be printed at the bottom of the page.
This sets the position and data of a logo if you want to print it at the end of a document.
To print a logo left-aligned, select 'Left'. To print it centered, select 'Center'. To print it right-aligned, select 'Right'. You can also set the number of the logo data that you want to print in 'Registration Number'.
Any logo that you choose here will be printed at the bottom of the last page of the document.
If you select 'No Use', the logo will not be printed at the end of the document.
Soft Logo is a function that prints data saved to a PC as a logo on a document or page.
It saves the printed output from the printer to a PC as raster logo data and allows you to use it as a logo.
You can also use BMP data saved to a PC as a logo.
It allows you to use the data that is used by Soft Logo by saving it in a folder at a specified location (Startup drive:/Star/(print queue name)/StarRasterLogoData/) each time the data is printed. To use it as BMP data, save the file name as consecutive numbers starting from 0.
If you select 'Generate - ...' whenever logo data is set, and then print the content that you want to turn into a logo, the same data as the printed output is saved in BMP format in a folder at a specified location each time the data is printed.
You can save the printed output of multiple pages as multiple pieces of logo data. If logo data is saved when BMP data has already been saved, the saved BMP data is deleted and overwritten by the new logo data.
Click the 'Test Print' button to print all the BMP data that has been saved in the folder specified when 'Generate - ...' was selected.
If you select 'Print Mode', Soft Logo printing will be performed whenever logo data is set.
If you select 'All - BMP', all BMP data in the 'StartDoc' folder at the specified location will be printed at the top of the document. If you select 'Sequential - BMP', the BMP data in the 'StartDoc' folder at the specified location will be printed sequentially at the top of the document. If you select 'No Use', Soft Logo printing will not be performed at the top of the document.
If you select 'All - BMP', all BMP data in the 'StartPage' folder at the specified location will be printed at the top of the page. If you select 'Sequential - BMP', the BMP data in the 'StartPage' folder at the specified location will be printed sequentially at the top of the page. If you select 'No Use', Soft Logo printing will not be performed at the top of the page.
If you select 'All - BMP', all BMP data in the 'EndPage' folder at the specified location will be printed at the bottom of the page. If you select 'Sequential - BMP', the BMP data in the 'EndPage' folder at the specified location will be printed sequentially at the bottom of the page. If you select 'No Use', Soft Logo printing will not be performed at the bottom of the page.
If you select 'All - BMP', all BMP data in the 'EndDoc' folder at the specified location will be printed at the end of the document. If you select 'Sequential - BMP', the BMP data in the 'EndDoc' folder at the specified location will be printed sequentially at the end of the document. If you select 'No Use', Soft Logo printing will not be performed at the end of the document.
This driver provides you several Pre-defined Paper Sizes.
You can also create custom paper sizes with User-defined Paper Size using the Windows Printer Queue.
Each paper size is defined to be a specific width and height which denotes the printable area. You need not apply any margins to your documents.
The paper size(s) that include the word 'Receipt' in their name are intended for variable length print jobs, like receipts; when using this paper size be sure to choose the 'Receipt' option of the Paper Type setting.
Your paper size configuration may be changed according to the current configuration of the applications you are using.
If there is not any paper size configuration within your application, please use the following setting. It is recommended that you configure the same value in 3 locations.

To create user-defined paper sizes, you can use the Windows Printer Queue function and follow the procedure below.

Your printer supports a range of printer resident and barcode fonts. These fonts are built into your printer and are selectable from within your application.
You can use these when the 'Print Mode' option is set to the 'Line' setting.
Using device fonts, you can get both high printing quality and high printing speed. The barcode fonts allow you to print barcodes by simply applying one of the barcode fonts to a section of your document; the text in that section describing the barcode's layout and data. The control font allows you to control various aspects of the printers behaviour, with specific behaviours mapped to specific characters printed using the control font.
